The Loves spend the day at the largest indoor waterpark in Texas

If you are needing a break from this triple digit North Texas heat, then you need to pack up the kids and head out to Epic Waters in Grand Prairie. It is the largest indoor waterpark in Texas at 80,000 square-feet, and was recently named a 10 Best Indoor Waterpark by USA TODAY. Just like they say, “Everything is bigger in Texas” and Epic Waters definitely lives up to the hype. It is loaded with nonstop fun for families and kids of all ages. We spent the day there, and by the end of it, we were all wiped out from a day full of epic fun. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with “Mahalo” and a smile by the gate attendant. We were taken to our cabana that had a large screen TV loaded with all the streaming apps, and the kids immediately put on Netflix to watch a few minutes of “The Smurfs” as we were getting settled in and changing into swimsuits.

Our first stop was the Activity Pool and Children’s Area where all 3 of them climbed the playground equipment up and went down the water slides. They turned the spouts and got completely drenched from the large dump bucket. Next, we all grabbed some of the inflatable tubes and went around the lazy river and again and again. This is the spot if you want to fully relax and not worry about the time passing by. Next up was the FlowRider Surf Simulator. I regret never taking surfing lessons when I did my study abroad in Costa Rica back in college. It was a decision of making sure I have enough money for food and all our side trips or surfing lessons. All four of us were tall enough to ride, and of course we all did. They have a surf instructor too, that helps you get onto the board, properly ride the wave and even teaches you some tricks! Check out our rides!! Now, I am definitely going to plan that trip back to Costa Rica for all of us and we will do the surf lessons this time. Pura Vida!!

Right next to the FlowRider was the entrance to the waterslides. Ready, set, GO!! It was a race down them every single time! This was both of the biggies' favorite feature at the whole park! Epic Waters has 11 waterslides, including the newest one, Locura, that has a 40-ft first drop and reaches speeds of 35 mph. This one is only for the top thrill seekers. After that, we went outside to the wave pool. They had a DJ playing some good tunes and some carnival-type games around, while the waves came crashing in inside the pool. Outside was also a stage set-up where they had a show that performed a few times daily.

After all the water fun, Brad and I were ready to call it a day. The kids begged for more. We changed into dry clothes and decided to head into the arcade. This was the perfect spot to end such an awesome day. With an arcade that has so many games and activities, you almost forget that you are still at the waterpark. We left with a few toys for each of them!

After a full day of splashing, laughing, and a ton of family fun, we left the park exhausted, but with many great memories.
